Events and Activities
Members of the Kansas City Chapter enjoy numerous events and activities, including academic
receptions, community service projects, watch parties and the following special events:
BLACK & GOLD TIGER BALL
Each spring, the KC Chapter hosts a creative black-tie formal dinner, dance and auction
to raise money for the Student Scholarship Fund for the MU Alumni Scholars Program & Tiger
Scholarship Fund. The event, which is co-sponsored by the Tiger
Club of Kansas City, has raised more than $430,000 over the past ten years.

OTHER EVENTS & ACTIVITIES
Each year KC alumni join in other activities and networking events. Whether it is a watch
party, a Welcome Home reception for recent graduates, a reception to meet MU faculty, or a
Chapter meeting, there is something for all Tigers in the KC area.
In addition to casual get-togethers, alumni gather to celebrate the 1839 founding of
the University of Missouri and our current successes. Founders’ Celebration is usually held
in February and includes a campus reception coupled with an athletic event. The KC Chapter
hosts a concurrent event for area alumni.
